You may want to check out a UI replacement called PointUI - http://www.pointui.com/ Extensively customisable, it allows modification via C# style scripting. It seems to have a busy if not vibrant community, but hopefully this will pick up once the product becomes better known. It's really quite swish - and the apps are all nice and finger friendly. Not an iPhone killer but everything is an improvement!
